Learning and Teaching

Learn with Rabbi Langowitz

Serving as an educator is one of the aspects of my role as a rabbi which brings me the most joy. I have over a decade of experience teaching Judaism in an accessible, thoughtful, and modern way to students of all ages. I am available to teach in the greater Phoenix area, to present to your community remotely, or for in-person experiences as a scholar-in-residence. I believe that every Jewish learning experience should be a chance to bring the fullness of ourselves into conversation with Judaism’s beautiful complexities. I want my students to leave my classes empowered and inspired to see themselves as an essential part of Jewish community and tradition.

Below you’ll see a selection of recent lectures and classes; these are just a small sample of the many topics which I am prepared to teach or speak about.

Where Are We Moored?

"I believe, like our Founders, that we are obligated to prophetic ethics, to the powerful and historical connection that Judaism, and especially Reform Judaism, has had with the teachings of ethical monotheism. And I believe, like my grandfather, that we are obligated to covenant: to the voice which commands out of a lasting and loving relationship with us as individuals and with our people."

-Rabbi Langowitz, 2019 Founders' Day for Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, "Where Are We Moored? Reform Judaism in the 21st Century and Beyond."
